Well....it's been quite a whirlwind of a week! My birthday on Tuesday was made incredibly special thanks to Allie Umhoefer and all of my students. It was Harry Potter themed and I got so many wonderful letters from my kids (written on Hogwarts acceptance letters.) They decorated the music office with balloons and Hogwarts-signs, Allie made Sorting Hat cupcakes with different colored fillings based on houses, and one of my students even bought me my own Harry Potter light-up wand! So fortunate to have such wonderful students that make me smile every single day! Tuesday was followed up with two wonderful winter choral concerts...super proud of my kids and their hard work!!
The rest of the week was filled with emotions and culminated last night with my last Random Maxx gig. It was overwhelmingly wonderful to have so many friends and family come out to the show, along with past, present and future band members --- thank you to all of you!! Thanks to everyone who shared the stage with me at different points throughout the night last night - Mike Carini, Stephen Gaulke, Ann Wieczorek, Allie Umhoefer, Erin DeJarlais, Jake Brusewitz, Jake Litwin, Andrea Kisley and the amazing Mary Morales who flew all the way here from LA just to see my last show. I had the most fun I've ever had at a gig, and it was all thanks to the support of so many people helping me through this huge transition in my life. Words can't express the emotions I am feeling while closing this chapter of my life, but I am excited to move forward into a brand-new chapter!
A huge shout out to Katrina Jean who has been amazing as we've been working through transitioning me out of and her into the band. Random Maxx is so lucky to have you and I'm so excited to see you rock it on stage!
Lastly, thanks once again to Mark, Bo, Terry, and Jacob for being so amazing and putting up with me for 10 years. I love you guys, and will for sure be your biggest fan at future shows.<3 <3
