It's been awhile since I've sent out a news update! Thanks to everyone who came out to my gig at The Milwaukee Ale House --- the weather was beautiful and you guys were awesome. I posted some live recordings from that gig, so if you want to check them out, feel free! I hope to be back sometime this winter, and into the spring and next summer for some more outdoor gigs.
It's been a crazy busy past few weeks, filled with weddings (Congrats to Nate and Amanda, and Ben and Timber), celebrating the upcoming wedding of Kaitlin and Chris with Kaitlin's bachelorette party, and a much-needed getaway this weekend to Holcombe/Chippewa Falls for our annual Schlecht Sister's Weekend.
Two exciting things this week... one is a personal thing, but that I've been working on incredibly hard for the past six weeks. With the help of Colleen, Mandy and Allie, my high school choirs have put together an amazing Broadway Revue that they will perform tomorrow night, Monday October 16th. These kids are incredible and have been not only prepping and working on small group and solo work outside of class, but also have been teaching each other, making practice tracks, running sectionals, creating choreography, and holding each other accountable for learning music. The result is a concert filled with Broadway show tunes from the classics to the new hits. If you are free, come hang out...you'll be as impressed as I have been with my kids this year. Also --- huge shoutout to the FHS marching band for their awesome marching season, wrapping up their season Saturday with their first-ever First Division award and earning the highest score in school history. The FHS music department is rockin it and we are excited to see what the rest of the year brings.
Then...this Thursday, I have my first solo gig at Rox Bar and Grille in Pewaukee. I've played a few gigs at Rox with Random Maxx as well as sat in a few times with other musician, but this week it's just me! $4 Three Olives drink specials from 7-11, and I'll be playing from 7:30-10:30. Perfect timing! The have amazing food and it's a super fun atmosphere. Plus - I'll be playing, so why not hang out?
Saturday I'll be rockin' with Doghouse Charlie at The Edge West in Greenfield (formerly known as Playoffs Pub). I always have a blast at our gigs and this one should be no exception! The last gig we played (with me present) was at The Mineshaft and it was quite the party ... come help us recreate that show by hanging out Saturday.
Stay tuned for upcoming November gigs, and hope to see you out this week and weekend!
